# M&A Flow > M&A Flow is a self-hosted post-merger IT integration platform that maps acquired applications, data sources and owners, then executes tracked migrations. M&A Flow is built for Corporate Development, Integration Management Offices, IT integration leads and HR teams running acquisitions, carve-outs and business partnership integration. M&A Flow is deployed inside the customer's own infrastructure, so acquisition data never leaves their environment and the security controls they already operate continue to apply. - **What it is**: M&A Flow is a self-hosted post-merger IT integration platform that maps acquired applications, data sources and owners, then executes tracked migrations. - **How it works**: M&A Flow uses AI to discover, structure and enrich acquisition information, automation to keep assessments, decisions and migrations moving, and human review to confirm every suggestion before it becomes a decision. - **Who it is for**: Corporate Development, Integration Management Offices, IT integration leads and HR teams running acquisitions, carve-outs and business partnership integration. - **Where it runs**: Inside the customer's own infrastructure: their cloud account or data centre, their identity provider, their storage. - **What it connects to**: Existing inventory imports plus SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, cloud object storage, identity systems and CMDBs, where the organization allows it. - **What it is not**: Not a CMDB replacement and not a generic project tracker. M&A Flow is the inventory, decision and data-transfer layer connecting business context to migration execution. Discover with AI. Decide with people. Execute with automation. M&A Flow turns fragmented acquisition data into a connected IT integration landscape: AI discovers, structures and enriches information, the customer's team approves or changes every suggestion, and automation moves the approved work forward. M&A Flow runs one connected workspace from acquired landscape to migration execution. 1. **Discover & inventory** (AI assisted): build a connected inventory of acquired applications, data sources and storage locations. AI finds assets from connected sources, normalizes records, flags duplicates and suggests owners and departments. 2. **Assess & map** (AI assisted): assess what the data is, who owns it, where it belongs and which target solution should receive it. AI pre-fills what is known, highlights gaps and proposes relationships to review. 3. **Decide** (human controlled): the customer's team reviews the evidence and sets the target action: Migrate, Archive, Retain or Destroy. Owners, approvals and rationale stay on the record. AI recommends, people decide. 4. **Execute & track** (automation): transfer files directly between connected storages such as Box, Google Drive and Amazon S3. Complex migrations performed by specialist tools stay visible in the same workspace, either by connecting that tool so its progress flows in, or by recording milestones and evidence manually. AI assists throughout, the customer's team stays in control, and automation keeps execution moving. No AI suggestion becomes a decision until a person approves it, and M&A Flow records who approved or changed each one. One connected record runs from discovery to completion: applications, data, owners, assessments, decisions and migration activity stay linked throughout the integration. A **Migration Event** is the tracked unit of migration work M&A Flow creates from an approved inventory record, covering both the transfers M&A Flow runs in-app and the migrations another tool performs, so execution stays linked to the business context behind it. **Scope of execution**: M&A Flow handles execution in three ways. 1. **Direct transfer**: M&A Flow performs file transfers between connected Box, Google Drive and Amazon S3 locations, from the acquired organization into the acquiring one or between systems inside it, and records progress, per-file results and completion. 2. **Connected tool**: for a migration performed by a specialist tool, that tool can be connected to M&A Flow so its metadata and progress flow onto the Migration Event. 3. **Manual tracking**: where no connection exists, teams record milestones, evidence and completion on the Migration Event as manual entries. More complex migrations, such as database migrations or application replatforming, always fall into the second or third model: M&A Flow tracks them with owner, scope, status and evidence while a specialist tool performs the move. M&A Flow uses AI across six capabilities, and every suggestion carries the signals behind it so a person can confirm or reject it. - **Discover**: identify candidate applications, repositories, usage relationships and ownership signals from connected identity systems, CMDB extracts, cloud environments, collaboration platforms and imported files. - **Structure**: generate standardized inventories from inconsistent spreadsheet layouts and due diligence documents, mapping columns such as Business Owner or Application SME onto standard fields. - **Enrich**: suggest the department, owner, classification and criticality most likely to apply, including classification signals such as possible personal data or regulated content for expert review. - **Connect**: normalize name variants into one record, flag duplicate and overlapping entries, and surface candidate target applications based on business capability. - **Prioritize**: rank missing information, migration blockers and orphaned data so teams work the queue that actually blocks migration. - **Assist**: answer questions about the landscape, draft management summaries and recommend the next action, always linking back to the underlying records. M&A Flow does not let AI make migration decisions. AI assembles signals and suggests a strategy; Migrate, Archive, Retain or Destroy stays a human decision with the required approvals. M&A Flow reduces coordination overhead across Business, IT and external partners by assigning, chasing and progressing integration work. Records advance through Discover → Assign → Assess → Approve → Migrate → Complete as owners, assessments and approvals complete. Assess and Approve are owned by people; M&A Flow moves the record only once those stages are done. - **Smart assignment**: assessments are assigned to the confirmed owner with a due date. - **Automated reminders and escalations**: reminders follow the due date, and overdue work escalates to the integration lead. - **Approval workflows**: approval routes vary with sensitivity and the customer's governance model. - **Pre-populated assessments**: assessments arrive filled with what discovery already established, so business experts validate exceptions instead of blank fields. - **Orphaned data detection**: records missing an owner, department, target action, destination, assessment or Migration Event are flagged before data sits in staging. - **Readiness assessment**: migration readiness is scored from auditable completion rules, and the blockers behind the score are named. - **Audit trail**: every automated step is recorded in the activity timeline. M&A Flow ships these capabilities in the Deal Workspace: - **AI Discovery**: proposes applications, data sources, storage locations, departments and owners from uploaded documents and connected repositories; every suggestion is reviewed before it enters the inventory. - **In-app Data Transfer**: copies files between connected Box, Google Drive and Amazon S3 locations as a Migration Event, with progress and per-file results kept on the original inventory record. The copy runs inside the customer's infrastructure. Migrations outside those connectors stay tracked as Migration Events while a specialist tool performs the move. - **Cloud Storage Explorer**: browses mapped repositories from the Deal Workspace, subject to existing permissions. - **Portfolio**: acquisitions and partnerships across the organization. - **Deal Workspace**: one workspace per acquisition or partner programme. - **Applications**: ownership, criticality and target action. - **Data Sources**: repositories, storage locations and owners. - **Migration Events**: approved migrations tracked whether M&A Flow or another tool runs them. - **Data Transfer**: Box, Drive and S3 copy jobs linked to Migration Events. - **Assessments**: pre-populated data assessments for business review. - **Automation**: assignments, reminders, escalations and approvals. - **Issues & Risks**: blockers, deviations and unresolved decisions. - **Activity Timeline**: complete audit history. - **Administration**: users, roles and permissions. M&A Flow is licensed in three self-hosted editions: Basic, Premium and Enterprise. Each edition is quoted per organization. Basic covers the Deal Workspace inventory, playbook, findings and manual Migration Event tracking. Premium adds Storage Explorer, in-app file transfer between Box, Google Drive and Amazon S3, and AI file categorization. Enterprise adds Entra / M365 discovery and Administration. M&A Flow is self-hosted, and holds no certifications on a customer's behalf. Because the deployment sits inside the customer's environment, their existing SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR controls continue to govern the data: their infrastructure, encryption, retention, logging and access reviews. M&A Flow contributes role-based access per deal and a complete audit history as evidence to those control sets. There is no vendor-hosted copy of deal data, no data-processing agreement to negotiate and no sub-processor review. ## Links - [Homepage](https://maflow.ai/): Full product page with overview, AI intelligence, automation, platform, security, comparison, pricing and FAQ - [AI intelligence](https://maflow.ai/#ai): How M&A Flow uses AI to discover, structure, enrich, connect, prioritize and assist - [Automation](https://maflow.ai/#automation): How M&A Flow assigns, chases and progresses integration work without taking authority - [Platform capabilities](https://maflow.ai/#platform): Modules from discovery through in-app Box, Drive and S3 data transfer - [Security and deployment](https://maflow.ai/#security): Self-hosted control support, not vendor certification claims - [Comparison](https://maflow.ai/#compare): How M&A Flow differs from spreadsheets, PMI trackers and CMDBs - [Pricing](https://maflow.ai/#pricing): Basic, Premium and Enterprise editions of self-hosted M&A Flow - [FAQ](https://maflow.ai/#faq): Mechanics and objection answers for buyers and AI retrieval ## Optional - [Contact](mailto:hello@maflow.ai): Sales contact for deployment scope and deal volume
